awarenessPlus is the creation of Jack Sokol.

In 2001, when the Twin Towers came crashing down, there was a tremendous upheaval, something that unleashed a lot of energy on the planet, and shook everyone to their core.  What people did with that energy was of course, dependent upon their level of understanding.

That shock, was also a spiritual upheaval of planetary proportions.

At that time this Teaching, something germinating in me over a long period of time suddenly crystallized. It wasn’t like a stream of thoughts or a form intellectualizing, it was more like a package, a big diamond shape package all neat and self-contained. I was (and still am amazed) how this package could be so perfect.

At that time I began to write down my ideas. I thought I essentially had the spiritual equivalent of Einstein’s Unified Field Theory. Well, I did have a system. Whether it’s a complete system is anybody’s guess. I have my doubts if that would or could ever exist. I don’t even know if it can be taught. Perhaps it can be transmitted.

I taught a series of classes and planned out an entire curriculum that would take people beyond their dualistic nature, beyond the dualistic mind, to an experience of enlightenment. Amazingly some people, “got it”. If they attended all of the lectures, I assured them, they would “get it”. And gosh darn it, some of them did. But most of the people skipped some of the lectures, or stopped coming. So … none of those people “got it”. I don’t blame them. It’s totally understandable given the chaos most people live in.

Still, it’s been a big struggle. What I discovered is that further refinement is involved and I moved to take my studies to another level. As I open myself everyday to the study of ideas pertaining to Non-duality, Buddhism, Mahamudra, Reality, I become more skillful in presenting them in a coherent way to the public.

They are not wacky ideas at all, but part of a stream of thought, both intellectual and spiritual, that has deep roots thousands of yeas old.

The struggle is however, very real. Our planet is entering a period of intense change do to the pressures of over-population, climate change and other factors, all of them inter-connected.

Humanity must adapt and change to meet this. Are we up to the task?

If and only if we recognize, who we really are. If we remain as we are, quite frankly, no. We won’t survive.

We’re doomed! Ha Ha!

So, it’s critical, at this juncture, that humanity wake up, to who and what we really are, and get past our troubled adolescence. That is why I do not advocate of condone any form of violence.

My main current teacher, or preceptor is Thrangu Rinpoche, who is the tutor of the Seventeenth Karmapa.

My previous teachers have been affiliates of the Gurdjieff Foundation of Los Angeles and San Francisco, J. Krishnamurti, Ramesh Baleskar, the Sixteenth Karmapa (now Seventeenth Karmapa), Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Richard Alpert (Baba Ram Dass)

But quite frankly, Primordial Wisdom, is and has been my main teacher since 1982.

Primordial Wisdom, or Greater Reality is and always will be the Source, or ground of my teaching.
